NRG AWARENESS PLANS TO CUT HEATING BILLS BY UP TO 60%
CORK based NRG Awareness, an energy company focused on reducing heating costs for homes and businesses, has announced plans to create 70 new jobs within the next two years.
The company expects to expand significantly and grow its direct staff numbers from 7 to 30 by the end of 2019, while its growth will be responsible for up to 50 new heating installer jobs around the country. The company already works directly with up to 150 heating installers on a regular basis around the country and predicts a turnover of €5 million by the end of 2020. NRG Awareness has already started marketing and selling its patented products into the UK market.
State grants have already delivered energy upgrades for more than 375,000 homes, with many more expected to benefit in the coming years. By the end of 2019 NRG Awareness will have sold approximately 6,000 units and this is expected to reach 20,000 by the end of 2020.
NRG Awareness, Managing Director, Patrick Hogan said: “The NRG Awareness product range and service model was developed with an understanding that not all clients will have the same requirements or they won’t possess the specialised expertise needed to support the enormous amount of energy efficient but complex innovations arriving almost daily in the heating industry marketplace. At NRG Awareness it is our aim to ensure we make heating homes and businesses as efficient and cost-effective for our customers as possible, while maximising comfort.”
The company helps its customers reduce their home and commercial heating bills by between 15 to 60%. Offering a ‘hands-on, on-site” approach, they work directly with customers and hundreds of heating installers around the country.
NRG Awareness is an Irish company, with its headquarters in Cork city. They have worked with many top commercial businesses in Ireland, including a number of community hospitals across Munster where heating bills were reduced on average by 40% per annum.
The company offers customers the NRG Zone system which is a simple, creative new way where NRG Awareness experts design the most advanced energy efficient system specific to each home or business.
A recent report from the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland found that after declining for ten years, the typical amount of energy used in Irish homes is on the rise again.
The first step for a customer with NRG Awareness is a ‘Heating System Health Check’. NRG Awareness will send a plumber to your home to do an assessment of your heating system with the aim of saving you as much money as possible on your heating bills. The service is a ‘one stop shop’ for homeowners.
About NRG Awareness:
NRG Awareness was started by Harry Rea 20 years ago. Harry was working as a plumber in his native Cork when he thought of and developed ideas to making heating homes more efficient. It was only when Harry was joined at the company by his son, David that they were able to take things to the next level. Harry needed engineering expertise at the company and when David completed his Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Cork Institute of Technology in 2005 he joined his father at the business.
In January 2014 the company changed its name to NRG Awareness. The company was acquired by Seabox EMEA in September 2016. Harry and David remain heavily involved in the running of the company while Seabox founder Jim Brennan is the company CEO and Patrick Hogan, who is also a native of Cork, is the Managing Director. Harry also works with the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) on improving standards across the industry.
The company is also focused on the export market and has plans for exporting to the UK, USA and Europe in the short-term.
