Harry was working as a plumber in his native Cork when he began developing more efficient systems for home heating. It was only when Harry was joined at the company, by his son David, that they were able to take these state of the art heating systems to the next level.
Harry needed engineering expertise at the company so when David completed his Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Cork Institute of Technology in 2005 he joined his father at the business. Together Harry and David Rea designed the next generation of heating manifold, the NRG ZONE.
In September 2016 the company was acquired by the Sea Box Group. Harry and David remain heavily involved in the running of the company while Sea Box founder Jim Brennan is the company CEO and Cork native Patrick Hogan is the Managing Director.
The company has exciting plans in place with patents in Europe and the United States.
The NRG ZONE is one of the most innovative products to appear in the heating sector for many years. At first glance the unit looks like many other manifold type products that already exist in the marketplace and may seem to act simply as a form of extended “low loss header” but that is certainly not the case.
